Singapore is making a concerted effort to become a fun city, after years of, well, being a “fine” city:

First, there was the much debated decision to open casinos. And now, business rap videos!
As I discovered on TechCrunch, the Media Development Authority (MDA) of Singapore, whose goals are to 1) promote the growth of the Singapore media industry and 2) to manage content to protect core values and safeguard consumers’ interests, has released a *ahem* creative rap video:
This video is part of the MDA’s Interactive Annual Report 2006/2007. They encourage you to sing along to the MDA Senior Management Rap, and with lines such as the following, it has quickly become the media darling:
We’ll be consolidating data and building
A service oriented architecture
To add value to the economy, for a bright future
Like an LCD screen, you’ll get a crystal clear picture
There’s even a musical interlude and a rapper with bling chains around his neck (to compliment the rest of the rapping business suits).
As one TechCrunch comment said: “i must move to singapore immediately”, while another summed it up as follows “quick show of hands – who has watched this at least three times all the way through like I have? I can’t stop watching it.”
